TNA has released both Lance Rock and Petey Williams. The reason for the releases is said to be an effort to freshen up the undercard roster by replacing talent that has been with the company for an extended period of time. The plan is to bring in some new performers to replace them. There is no heat with either Williams or Rock, and the feeling is that both could be back with the company down the line. Other releases are expected.

It’s a wash really: for all their potential, Lance wasn’t being used fully, and Petey was saddled with a dumb gimmick. Jobbing out to a breaking-down Scott Steiner isn’t much help either. Steiner is still good, but he would serve TNA much better as a mentor to the younger talent — kinda like Shane Douglas tried to be. So much for all the hype behind the Canadian Destroyer.
What of Lance? Maybe a reunion with Kid Kash is called for.
