Jushin Liger Off TNA Lockdown PPV

Due to a communications error, Jushin Thunder Liger was double booked for TNA Lockdown as well as a New Japan tour. Liger opted to honor his New Japan obligations. TNA has already removed his match against Christopher Daniels match from their Lockdown website and are expected to announce the replacement match shortly.


Midway Games Prepping TNA Game For 2007 Release

Representatives of Midway Games are in Orlando, Florida today working on preparations for the first TNA video game (scheduled for a 2007 release) at the Impact Zone. I have heard they were working on a photo shoot, possibly of the venue, to begin incorporating it into designs for the game.




Jeff Jarrett Not Injured At PPV

During the show closing segment on TNA Destination X PPV tonight, Jeff Jarrett appeared to suffer some sort of injury to his leg, which is why he was sitting at the end of the night while hitting Sting with his guitar. Jarrett began clutching his left knee after being placed in the Sharpshooter.

Somoa Joe Injury Update

Samoa Joe suffered a temporary loss of vision during the Ultimate X match at Destination X. Joe had suffered an eye injury recently that had been bothering him, and when he dove to the floor debris got into the eye and temporarily blinded him. The injury caused the match to be cut several minutes shorter than had been allotted. Joe was fine following the match, but the eye problem handicapped him during the later stages of the match.


TNA Rating Rises

This past Saturday’s edition of TNA Impact on Spike TV scored a 0.9 rating, bouncing back from the 0.7 the show scored the week before.

Among Males 18-49, the show scored a 0.7. The show also scored 0.7 among Male 18-34. The average audience was also up, capturing 1,029,000 viewers.


Samoa Joe Resigns With TNA

It seems Samoa Joe has agreed to a 2-3 year deal with TNA. This was an obviously good move on TNA’s part as the WWE had expressed interest in Joe.


Goldberg Interested In TNA

While appearing on Bubba the Love Sponge’s Sirius radio show this afternoon, former WCW and WWE World champion Bill Goldberg commented on TNA saying that if Spike TV wanted to invest their money and effort to go against WWE, he would be interested in discussing it. He also noted that he’s had conversations recently with Sting about TNA.

The only other wrestling-related notes were Goldberg commenting that WWE “blew it” with his Wrestlemania XX match against Brock Lesnar, and praised Hulk Hogan for helping him get his agent.


Its Official: Impact Moving To Primetime

It’s official, Spike TV officially announced that TNA Impact will be moving to a 9:00 PM (Est) time slot on Thursday nights starting April 13. Impact may expand to 90 minutes or a full hour. SPike hasn’t announced what will be in the 10:00 PM slot the will lead into the new season of Ultimate Fighter, also moving to Thursday night airing at 10:00 PM.

UPDATE: Currently Impact will stay one-hour and then will be followed by UFC Unleased leading into the Ultimate Fighter. TNA is exploring the possibilities of expanding Impact to two hours as well as producing Impact live.


TNA Gets New Time Slot For Impact

TNA officials are in New York today meeting with officials from Spike TV to discuss a new time slot for TNA Impact. The word going around is that it will definately be a primetime spot. TNA wants Monday at 8 PM Est so they can go head on against the WWE, but Spike is said to be leaning to an 8 PM Est start time on Thursday nights ot lead into UFC programming. Impact is expected to expand to 90 minutes and possibly to two hours.


News From The Impact Tapings

TNA is taping two episodes of Impact tonight in Orlando, Florida.

Bill Berhens, Normal Smiley, Homicide and Sting are all backstage. Samoa Joe did not seem to be nursing his ankle injury from this past weekend.

Matches announced for the tapings include Ron Killings versus Bobby Rude, The Naturals versus Konnan’s Crew, plus Team 3D, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Abyss, Rhino, Chris Sabin and Homicide in action along with a tribute to Sting.
