To follow up on the Paul Heyman situation, it looks like he is gone from WWE. PwInsider talked to a few people in the know and the general concensus was that Vince McMahon was angry at how bad December To Dismember was and pinned the whole mess on Heyman. He got the blame for it with the theory being that “he is caught in the past and doesn’t understand the new vision of ECW”.
PwInsiders sources also revealed that the problems started Sunday at the ECW PPV when everyone realized that the show really stunk. Heyman was said to be unhappy with the way that the show was booked and sources backstage reported that he voiced that concern both before the show and after it. People at the Raw/ECW Tapings said that it was obvious that there were issues between Vince McMahon and Heyman because of the how the show played out on pay TV, with everyone knowing it was a disaster.

World Wrestling Entertainment hired former Four Horsemen member Tully Blanchard to work as a producer (new term for agent). Blanchard started yesterday at the Raw taping in Chicago yesterday. It’s a 30 day trial run to see how he does in the role, something that others, including Ted DiBiase and Ricky Steamboat have done prior to being signed on as a full-time employee. Also, Psicosis was finally officially released by WWE a few days ago in a move that was considered just a matter of time after his recent legal skirmish in Mexico.
The Teddy Long announcement that was hyped on the WWE website earlier today turned out to be a storyline deal where MVP has officially signed with the Smackdown brand. In other SmackDown news, WWE has announced that Kid Kash, who was working as one half of the Pitbulls tag team, has been released from the company.
WWE has just announced on WWE.com that the Boogeyman has been released. The following statement was posted on the site:
WWE has come to terms on the release of Boogeyman (Marty Wright) as of today 9/20/06. We wish Marty the best in all future endeavors.
Due to personal issues, Kurt Angle has been granted an early release from his contract. WWE looks forward to establishing a new relationship with Kurt in the near future. This is a big loss for WWE/ECW, but Angle needs to get his mind and body back together so he doesn’t end up killing himself for the business. You can read Angle’s comments on WWE.com.
Goldust appears to have been the victim of “creative having nothing” for him, although there was also heat on him for missing Monday Night Raw this week.
WWE released Mikey Batts, a former TNA undercard performer, from his WWE developmental deal today. Batts had been working in Ohio Valley Wrestling of late. No word yet on why Batts was released.
As first reported on WWE Mobile, WWE has come to an agreement on the release of Road Warrior Animal (Joe Laurinaitis) as of today June 6, 2006. He hasn’t had much of a role since Heidenreich was released several months back, so this one isn’t really much of a surprise.
