WWE Raw Preview 02.19.07

One night after No Way Out, wild twists and turns abound on the Road to WrestleMania as Raw returns to Bakersfield, Calif., and its regular Monday night time slot. John Cena and Shawn Michaels were true to their word at No Way Out—Cena battled alongside HBK as hard as he will against him when they meet at WrestleMania 23, while The Showstopper had the WWE Champ’s back during their unbelievable victory against World Champion Batista and Undertaker Sunday night. So what’s next for the World Tag Team Champions? Will they remain allies going into Bakersfield tonight, or will their mutual respect for one another begin to crumble under the weight of championship gold? We won’t have to wait long to find out, as Cena will be in action tonight when he takes on Randy Orton.

With WrestleMania 23 looming, it’s time to get a championship contract in place—specifically, inside a briefcase latched over the ring within Detroit’s Ford Field. The first round of “Money in the Bank” Qualifying Matches begins in Bakersfield tonight, with Edge squaring off against ECW’s Rob Van Dam. Since the Rated-R Superstar and the ECW Original were the respective “Bank” winners of the past two WrestleManias, this encounter ensures that one will not earn a bid into the match at the granddaddy of them all. Who will be the first to cash out?

One night after ECW’s December to Dismember, Raw rivalries heat up in North Charleston, S.C. The Hardys soared to victory over MNM at December to Dismember, but Joey Mercury & Johnny Nitro plan to turn up the heat several notches on Raw – by teaming up with Edge & Randy Orton. Rated-RKO is still gloating about their heinous actions last week, leaving Ric Flair lying in a pool of his blood, plus leveling The Hardys and getting themselves disqualified during their World Tag Team Championship Match. Matt & Jeff won’t be alone against this fatal foursome, however; in their corner will be very pissed-off D-Generation X members Shawn Michaels and Triple H, who want revenge on Flair’s attackers at all costs. Will they succeed, or do MNM and Rated-RKO have a plan that will leave The Hardys and DX in the same condition as the annihilated Nature Boy?

In Oklahoma City, D-Generation X will face three teams of Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman’s choice in a Gauntlet Match. DX must face all three teams in a row, and with all the Superstars at the Executive Assistant’s disposal, who will Coachman choose to battle Triple H and Shawn Michaels?

Trish Stratus won the Women’s Championship at Unforgiven, but her retirement forced the championship to be vacated. Every Diva wants to become champion; eight of them will have their chance, as RAW will see the beginning of an 8-Diva tournament to determine a new Women’s Champion. Who will be the one to succeed Trish?

Also in Oklahoma City, Johnny Nitro will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Kane. Weeks ago, Kane’s first chance at Nitro’s gold was interrupted by Umaga, who came to the ring to attack the Big Red Monster. An opportunistic Nitro was able to retain his gold in a Six-Pack Challenge last week; can he do it two weeks in a row, or will Oklahoma City see a Big Red Champion crowned?

To find out the answers to these questions and more, tune into RAW Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

John Cena, the new WWE Champion, will be on RAW one night after defeating Edge at Unforgiven. Last night, Cena beat the Rated R Superstar in his hometown of Toronto in a fierce, body bruising Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. Cena was able to reclaim the WWE Championship after giving Edge an FU off of the top of a ladder and through two tables. The win at Unforgiven keeps Cena from relocating to SmackDown and puts the most coveted prize on RAW back around his waist. Will Edge have anything to say to the new WWE Champion? Does Cena have a message for the Superstars of RAW now that he’s not going to SmackDown?

D-Generation X fought their way through ECW’s World Champion Big Show and the McMahons in a Hell in a Cell Match at Unforgiven, but the victory wasn’t the only reason DX had to cheer. HBK and Triple H ruined Mr. McMahon’s morale when they thrust the Chairman’s face into Big Show’s exposed backside. What will the most powerful man in sports-entertainment have to say about the public humiliation he suffered at the hands of DX?

A rematch of Unforgiven will take place on RAW, as Kane will once again meet the undefeated Umaga. Last night, the Big Red Machine and the Samoan Bulldozer battled to a double count out when the physicality of their match brought both mammoth Superstars out of the ring for too long. The question of which is the more dominant – the Big Red Machine or the Samoan Bulldozer – has yet to be determined. Will we find out on RAW?

For all the answers, tune in to RAW Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

Monday night, RAW will be left to sort out the fallout from Vengeance when the Superstars head to Fayetteville, N.C.

After DX defeated the Spirit Squad at Vengeance, Mr. McMahon told Triple H and Shawn Michaels that he would see them at RAW. At the time, little was known about The Chairman’s cryptic message. But now, it’s set – Mr. McMahon will team up with his son Shane to take on DX tonight on RAW.

Just 24 hours after perhaps losing the WWE Championship in controversial fashion at ECW One Night Stand, John Cena looks to exact revenge from one of the men that may have cost him the gold – Edge.

Back on his home turf, will Cena be able to make the Rated-R Superstar pay for spearing him through a table at One Night Stand? Or will Edge continue to get the best of Cena?

As per the Chairman’s stunning announcement, this week’s RAW will include a special induction. That induction will be of the newest member to the Mr. McMahon Kiss My Ass Club, and according to Mr. McMahon, that new member will be Triple H. Will The Game join the likes of Shawn Michaels, William Regal and Jim Ross as members of sports-entertainment’s most exclusive club?

Also this week on RAW, the WWE Championship Match at ECW One Night Stand will be made official when John Cena and Rob Van Dam ink their names on the contract.

The Intercontinental Championship match between Kane and Shelton Benjamin was interrupted when the recurring voices in Kane’s head seemingly came to life. The Big Red Monster found himself staring at a mirror image of his old self right in the middle of the RAW ring. Will there be any further developments in the mysterious saga that is Kane?

Also last week on RAW, Paul Heyman had a face-off with Mick Foley, and announced his two draft picks for the new ECW team: RAW’s Rob Van Dam and SmackDown’s Kurt Angle. What will Heyman have up his sleeve this week on RAW, just six days before the ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view?

To find out, make sure you are tuned into RAW Monday at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.
