WWE Pulls Another Talent From Memphis Show
Posted on April 26th, 2007 at 8:55 am

WWE has pulled another performer from the Memphis Wrestling show that was originally set to be headlined by Hulk Hogan vs Jerry Lawler. Robert Gibson had been advertised to appear with his Rock N Roll Express partner Ricky Morton, but Gibson was told by WWE that he would not be allowed to appear on the show. Gibson is currently working as a trainer in the WWE developmental system. Macklin called Gibson and verified that he had been told by WWE officials that he would not be allowed to appear. Macklin stressed that no other WWE affiliated performers are scheduled for the show, so they can’t pull anybody else from the show. The event will take place this Friday night at the Fedex Forum in Memphis and the main event will see Hulk Hogan face Paul Wight (formerly Big Show).

Jim Ross Comments On Randy Orton Situation
Posted on April 26th, 2007 at 8:52 am

Jim Ross wrote about the Randy Orton situation on his blog: “Orton, as reported by WWE.com was sent home from the tour for unprofessional conduct, which I am sure will most likely cost the 3rd generation star some hard-earned cash. Nonetheless, Orton will most likely be in Atlanta Sunday, and if he is not I will be surprised. Orton is not unlike many young athletes who reach fame and fortune at a young age and have issues handling it. I read about it seemingly every week regarding athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc. That certainly doesn’t make it right, as there are only so many “second chances” to go around and it would be a damn shame to see any young talent self destruct and permanently damage their career because of utilizing poor judgment. Randy is a talented and good hearted kid, but he has to make better choices, especially when it comes to anger issues. In my opinion, if Randy decides to change how he approaches certain situations he can be successful in doing so, which would in turn extend his career into one of the longer, more successful ones in the business. I speak from experience that “attitude” starts and ends with the person one sees in the mirror.”

The WWE Has Taken Action Against Randy Orton
Posted on April 24th, 2007 at 12:45 pm

Earlier this week, we reported that the WWE sent Randy Orton home from the European tour as a disciplinary move after an incident at the hotel where the WWE wrestlers were staying. The WWE covered up for his announced match with Edge on Raw last night by saying that the main event ran too long.

Well now, the WWE is prepared to issue a statement tomorrow. It seems someone at WWE.com got a little ahead of themselves and posted a page talking about the WWE taking action against Randy Orton : “WWE has taken action against Randy Orton for unprofessional conduct.” The date on the article is April 25, 2007, so I assume this article will expand on what happened and what kind of action was taken. This will mark the second time Randy Orton has been sent home for problems. Last time this happened, Orton servered a suspension. Only Vince McMahon know what a second strike holds in store for Randy Orton.

More On Why The WWE Severed Ties With DSW
Posted on April 24th, 2007 at 12:39 pm

We reported that WWE severed ties with DSW, but now more infomormation is coming out as to why. WWE’s decision to sever DSW from their developmental territory program went down last Wednesday with John Laurinaitis and Mike Bucci, among other office staff, going to Atlanta to inform Hamilton and take WWE’s ring and equipment from Hamilton’s building. The equipment was then sent to Tampa, Florida, where it is expected to be set up at Steve Keirn’s school, with the idea of putting together a developmental territory there. Florida has been earmarked for an eventual developmental site for some time.

The DSW-assigned wrestlers were told that none of them are being released and they will all be relocated. The terminology used was that the experiment failed and WWE wasn’t blaming the boys. There were a number of factors that soured WWE, most recently Hamilton signing an international TV deal with the Fight Network in Canada without their blessing, but there were other issues, including the feeling that Hamilton was letting Bill DeMott come around after he was fired, undermining DeMott’s replacement Tom Prichard in the process, Hamilton’s failure to book regular house show loops for the boys to work and learn, and an overall dissatisfaction with how DSW was running the developmental end.

Jody Hamilton Releases Statemen On DSW Shutdown
Posted on April 23rd, 2007 at 11:14 am

Jody Hamilton posted the following statement at www.dswrestling.com: I want to thank all the fans we have at DSW for being the greatest and most loyal fans anyone could ever ask for. Since WWE has shut DSW down I have experienced some of the most emotional situations that I have ever been involved in, from emotional farwell’s with some of the DSW talent, to answering emotional questions from fans that were deeply hurt by this. I have no answers for the fans, for the talent involved I can say from the bottom of my heart that I love you very much. After being on an emotional rollercoaster for most of the day and desperately trying to keep it all together it was my 7 yr old grandson that caused me to loose it, (big time) Christian, overheard my daughter telling his sister that WWE had let me go and I wouldn’t be working at the DSW arena anymore, he then told his mother he wanted to get some money from his bank and open a lemonade stand, sell a lot of lemonade and give the money to Pop since he doesn’t have a job, such a sweet, loving, and considerate child.(this is a true story). Thank you for caring Christian, but Pop will be OK even without a job. It’s really heart-warming to me that so many people have responded to me being let go. Once again I want to thank the DSW talent, the DSW fans and most of all my family for all of your support. This will never put or keep me down, I will be back.
