MTV has decided to cancel the Wrestling Society X series. Apparently, MTV made the call earlier today, presumably due to the drop in ratings for the show. The phrase being used at MTV today was that the series was to be finished “effective immediately”. It’s not known if any of the remaining episodes will ever air on MTV or not at this point but the word at the MTV office is that the series will not be renewed. There are still six unaired episodes from the original filming.
After a solid start for the show, the ratings had dropped to the point where it wasn’t even meeting the night’s average on the network. Given that it was a wrestling show, the feeling is that it was expected to have to outperform the other programming in order to keep its slot. When it didn’t, it became immediately vulnerable. Last week’s show was pulled from MTV’s lineup either due to low ratings or because MTV, which had OK’d all of the shows scripts, had a problem with a fireball slot on the show, depending on who you believe.
Big Vision Entertainment, which produced the show, will retain rights to WSX and can market it to other networks or direct to DVD if they choose to do so.
As first reported by WWE Mobile Alerts, WWE has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Test (Andrew Martin). We wish Test all the best in all future endeavors. Is this related to his recent problems with the Wellness Program?

*El Hombre Blanco Enmascarado vs. The Human Tornado
*Keepin’ It Gangsta (Ruckus & Babi Slymm), WSX champion Vampiro, Sean Waltman and more will appear.

A most unlikely individual - Donald Trump - took WrestleMania 23 to the extreme when he selected Bobby Lashley as his representative in the Battle of the Billionaires. Mr. McMahon cannot be too happy about this news and neither can the Chairman’s choice, the Samoan Bulldozer, especially after the brawl between Lashley and Umaga on Raw that took nearly two dozen security guards, referees and officials to break up.
In fact, Mr. McMahon was so upset that he left Raw, telling Jonathan Coachman that he was heading to San Jose to teach Lashley a lesson on his own turf, ECW on Sci Fi. He also promised to make Lashley’s life “a living hell.” What does the Chairman have in store for the ECW World Champion? Has “The Donald” have found the one competitor that can keep Trump’s infamous mane unshaved?

Raw color commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler is the third member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007. Lawler, Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Perfect and more WWE Legends yet to be announced will be inducted on March 31 in Detroit.
Mr. McMahon sent a serious message to rival billionaire Donald Trump on Monday night when he selected new Intercontinental Champion Umaga to represent the Chairman in the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23. On the next edition of Raw, “The Donald” will answer back by announcing which Superstar will carry the Trump banner in Detroit on April 1. Which competitor will have the mogul’s endorsement? How will Mr. McMahon or, more importantly, the Samoan Bulldozer react to Trump’s pick?
On two consecutive nights, Shawn Michaels was true to his word to WWE Champion John Cena, having his tag team partner’s back at No Way Out and on Raw. Will Michaels uphold his promise this Monday night as he and Cena defend their World Tag Team Championship against Rated-RKO? Edge and Randy Orton have been credited with taking out Michaels last partner – and best friend – Triple H. Could the former tag champions be looking for more than another taste of championship gold?

A-1, formerly of Team Canada, has been released from his TNA deal. Like the Diamonds in the Rough, he hadn’t been used in some time by TNA. Norman Smiley was dropped from the TNA website’s roster this week, but I believe he’ll still be used on a per appearance basis in an enhancement role down the line.
*NWA Tag Team champions LAX vs. Team 3D - Belting Pot Match (Lumberjacks with Straps).
*Scott Steiner-Kurt Angle Contract Signing for Destination X.
*Jerry Lynn vs. Austin Starr vs. Jay Lethal vs. Senshi vs. Sonjay Dutt - Ladder Match to determine top contender to X-Division championship at Destination X
*Lance Hoyt & VKM vs. Rovert Roode & James Storm & Eric Young
The E! Network’s Daily 10 show tonight featured a piece of the Wrestlemania 23 “Battle of the Billionaires” Hair vs. Hair match. During the brief segment, E! aired video of a recent photo shoot featuring Vince McMahon, Umaga, Donald Trump, ECW World champion Bobby Lashley, and Steve Austin. As expected, Trump’s champion at the PPV will indeed be Lashley. Austin was wearing a referee’s shirt as he’ll be the special referee for the Wrestlemania 23 match.
Scheduled for tonight’s ECW on SciFi:
*ECW World champion Bobby Lashley vs. Ken Kennedy vs. Hardcore Holly
*CM Punk vs. Johnny Nitro - Wrestlemania 23 Money In The Bank Qualifying Match
*What’s next for the ECW Originals vs. the New Breed
*Snitsky returns
